πŸŽƒ FREE Resource? OR Opportunities?

We have ENOUGH Resources! πŸ•ΈπŸ•ΈπŸŽƒπŸ•ΈπŸ•Έ

I think by now we have PLENTY of ways and means of training for folks that are desperately seeking to enter the field, all for FREE I might add.

What we don't have are enough OPPORTUNITIES! You've seen it time and time again, people upskill and train up, they put in the work, some even putting themselves through a degree program, only to end up with ZERO opportunities!

Personally speaking, and I know many folks might disagree with this, but at this point, much like with Degrees, the overall value of FREE material/training has also decreased in essential value. Why? Because regardless of whether or not the knowledge is FREE and accessible, if people aren't given a chance then it's all for nothing!

The main goal of FREE resources/training is so folks can bypass the paywall barrier, allowing them to have just as much as a chance compared to those holding a 4 year degree along with certs. But, if they aren't even given a chance to apply that knowledge then it's just as useless as a person with a degree/certs, whom might I add, most likely put themselves in debt just to achieve that.

Why the lack of Opportunities? πŸ•ΈπŸ•ΈπŸŽƒπŸ•ΈπŸ•Έ

Now... WHY aren't there enough opportunities?

To put it simply, it's due to to the overall state of the job market, A.I. being involved, potential gatekeeping, and one other thing even if NONE of these things were a primary factor, which I'll talk about in my next point.

I've said this before, but Cyber Security isn't an entry level field.... BUT.... it should have entry level opportunities! Read that again until it clicks as it's an odd statement that has ruffled a few feathers in the past.

What I mean by that statement is there should be entry level opportunities that don't require ANY experience, where you can get an opportunity to apply the fundamental and theoretical knowledge you spent so long labbing and studying. You still follow?

Options if we had them? πŸ•ΈπŸ•ΈπŸŽƒπŸ•ΈπŸ•Έ

Now.... let's say that all of these sudden... ahem... "anomalies" were out of the question? Would there be any opportunities available?

YES, but, NOT in the manner you'd expect them in!

Ever hear the classic saying, "Cyber Security is EVERYONE'S job". You know, the classic line folks who ignore implementing Cyber Security practices HATE hearing? Well..... THAT'S the KEY to breaking into Cyber Security!!!

You see Cyber Security is EVERYWHERE!!πŸ•ΈπŸ•ΈπŸŽƒπŸ•ΈπŸ•Έ:

πŸŽƒ I.T. Help Desk

πŸŽƒ Software Engineering

πŸŽƒSystem admin

πŸŽƒ Networking

and the list goes on! All you need to do is simply convert your skills to fit the bill and you're good to go!

The problem with pursuing a career in Cyber Security is folks are being lead astray, thinking they're gonna start out in Cyber from the get go. You first need to become proficient in a skill trade in tech in order to even begin "securing it". That all makes sense?

If you enjoyed this post give it a thumbs up! I’ll be keeping track of whose reacting from now on as there is a β€œspecial” reason for it. Just know the more you support my content the more there is in stored!
